After 32 busy years of trading at the Chilton Garden Centre at Didcot in Oxfordshire, Chilton Antiques, formerly called Country Markets Antiques and Collectables, will close on August 29.
Owner Gordon Vaughan said: “The closure is a mutual agreement between myself and the landlords and not due to a lack of business from the trade and customers. The time has come for me to retire and spend more time with my family and friends and not have to worry about operating the centre seven days a week.”
Vaughan added: “Some of the 30 dealers are retiring and others are relocating to the Hungerford and Wallingford antiques arcades.”
