Based in Connecticut, he is exhibiting for the first time at The Chelsea Antiques Fair, which runs from September 21-26.
1 How did you get your start?
I was a collector of military things as a child and that started my interest in antique fairs, shops and auctions.
2 Have you noticed any collecting trends in the last 12 months?
Eighteenth century English country house paintings are really hot – in particular portraits, sporting paintings and landscapes.
3 What is one great discovery you’ve made?
A watercolour by John Ruskin I bought at Christie’s in New York for less than $100.
4 One lesson you would like to pass on to others in the trade?
Online is the way forward – get on every platform there is across the world.
5 Who do you admire in the art and antiques world?
Every hard-working dealer in this trade deserves admiration.
