'Hummingbirds' by Senaka Senanayake, priced at £17,000 from the Grosvenor Gallery.
Inspired by the plight of Sri Lanka’s rainforests, Senanayake paints bold and vibrant canvases of its wildlife, building up each work in multiple layers across a twoto- three-week period.
“I could have shown the negative aspects of destruction, such as people and animals dying, but I try to do happy, positive paintings,” he says.
Acquired directly from the artist, Hummingbirds is for sale from the Grosvenor Gallery's exhibition in St James’s as part of Asian Art in London, priced at £17,000.
