A sale of Prints and Multiples on October 19 will include this colour lithograph from 1966 by Jasper Johns (b.1930) titled Passage I (Field 57).
The 2ft 4in x 3ft ½in (71 x 93cm) work, which is signed and dated in ink and numbered 7/21 in pencil, was published by ULAE, West Islip, New York and has its blindstamp. The lithograph has a provenance to the estate of Anne Markely Spivak, Grosse Point, Michigan and is estimated at $8000-12,000.
A sale of Post-War and Contemporary art follows just over a week later on October 27 and will include a painting from 1952 by the British artist Alan Reynolds (1926- 2014) titled Dark Fir, Shoreham.
The 20 x 16in (51 x 40.5cm) oil on board is signed Reynolds 52 and dated lower right and also signed, dated and titled on the reverse. The painting was a gift to the vendor in 1985 from Jeffrey John Archer Amherst, 5th Earl Amherst. The estimate is $6000-8000.
