The multi-talented Cocteau turned to producing ceramics in his late 60s, creating pieces with Marie Madeline Jolly and Philippe Madeline in their Villefrance-sur-Mer studio in the south of France.

Bonhams’ sale will feature this part-glazed pink terracotta vase Bélier deux faces. Conceived in 1958 and executed in an edition of 20, the 15¾ x 11½in (40 x 29cm) vase is signed Jean Cocteau and inscribed and numbered Edition originale Jean Cocteau/Atelier Madeline-Jolly/5/30.

Estimate €15,000-25,000.
