Government guidance currently states that in England indoor events such as art and antiques fairs can begin to reopen from May 17 with a cap on numbers of 1000 people or 50% of a venue’s capacity. The cap may change in due course following further guidance.

Firsts, London’s Rare Book Fair has announced dates for its physical event in the autumn.

It is scheduled for October 21-24 at Saatchi Gallery in Sloane Square. The event will be its 64th edition.

Organiser the Antiquarian Bookseller’s Association (ABA) has been holding online alternatives during restrictions. Its next event, Firsts Online, runs from May 20-25.

Eye of the Collector, an event founded by Nazy Vassegh (who previously ran Masterpiece London), has been rescheduled for September 8-11.

The boutique art fair is held in Two Temple Place, central London. During lockdowns there have been online editions of Eye of the Collector.

Also planned for September is the Chelsea Antiques Fair, under new ownership of the team behind online dealer portal 2Covet.com, with dates confirmed for September 21-26.
