Self taught, but known to artists such as Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth and a close friend of John Tunnard, he produced numerous deconstructivist sculptures in the 1960s.
Only recently acknowledged by the mainstream art world, a group of Black’s works generated prices between £300 and £1250 at David Lay in May.
