Renard, depicting a fox (model No 1182), was made in very small numbers in c.1930.
It is estimated that as few as seven of this complex model – made towards the end of the fashion for illuminated glass car mascots – still exist.
This example, part of a stellar estate collection of Lalique mascots assembled in the 1960s-70s, was bought at £110,000 (over £135,000 including buyer’s premium) by dealer Geoffrey George Weiner of Unique Lalique Mascots in Brighton.
