Surely it is time for antique and fine art dealers to recognise that our survival demands that we all work together. I believe in order to survive and produce a relevant future for younger dealers and for the trade in general this has to be welcome.

It is time to be inclusive and not exclusive.

I fear that due to age and retirement, with the added complications brought on by Covid-19, membership of both associations will shrink dramatically over the next few years.

Surely one strong trade body has to be better that two weakening ones.

For many years I have been a member of both associations but last week I resigned from BADA.

I believe that a stronger, streamlined association which is more inclusive is essential for the health of the trade and to give us a louder voice before the government dumps more red tape and unworkable regulations on us.

With the fairs calendar in continued abeyance, I believe now is an excellent time to open this debate and would be interested in other opinions.
