On August 6, this 12in (30cm) twin-handled ruby ground vase was competed by seven phone lines way beyond its guide of £15,000-20,000 at Hannam’s

Together with a jade buddha, the vase had been given in lieu of a debt for a demolition job in the 1980s.

In good condition save some small areas of glaze loss, it has a Qianlong (1735-96) mark and the auction house deemed it ‘probably of the period’.
