A Space Models of Middlesex static scale model of Concorde displayed Belgian World Airlines Sabena livery – it was commissioned by Sabena Airlines in Belgium.

Sabena ordered two full-size Concordes but subsequently cancelled the order, as did many other airlines. The model was obviously commissioned for use in its UK office, said the saleroom. Twenty Concordes were built and 14 flew commercially: seven for Air France and seven for British Airways.

The 8ft 4in (2.54m) long model is marked reg no 00-SAB, the port side fuselage cut-away to show the passenger cabin details for showroom purposes. The chrome-plated stand is fitted for electric light illumination of the interior.

The vendor purchased it previously at Dominic Winter in 2006. It was bought for £6400 on May 20 by a Continental bidder not known to the Gloucestershire auction house, against an estimate of £2000-3000 in the Military & Aviation History, Medals & Militaria sale.
