'Nude' by Lin Fengmian – estimate $20,000-30,000 at Shapiro on April 24-25.
This recumbent nude is by Lin Fengmian (1900-91) a Chinese artist who worked in Eastern and Western styles and studied in Europe before returning to China in 1926. The 19 x 16½in (48 x 42cm) work, executed in watercolour and ink on rice paper, is signed and has the artist’s seal lower left.
It has come from a South American collection and was acquired in the 1960s.
Estimate $20,000-30,000.
