The catalogue, which features three digital bookshelves and a wall of art, allows users to ‘peruse’ the items like one would in a shop.
With no titles or descriptions in the catalogue, the user must hover over the book or picture of interest to find out what it is and then click through if they wish to find out more. “We believe that this clickable catalogue is an innovative approach to presenting books in the virtual world. We hope that it is far closer to the experience of going to a book fair or bookshop, and choosing which books you wish to examine further,” said Marcia.
Marc said feedback from clients has been “excellent”, adding, “several people have urged us to do this again and try to develop the idea – so we are looking at what we can do next”.
