This mid 19th century onyx cameo, enamel, pearl and diamond bracelet, is one of two pieces from her jewellery box offered at Bonhams’ London Jewels sale on April 28.

The bracelet once belonged to Adrian Hope of the famous Anglo-Dutch banking dynasty, whose greatniece, Lady Beatrice Lister Kaye, wore it at her wedding in 1880. The bracelet is a fitting marriage token; the lion proffering its paw to Eros is an allegory, expressing that love conquers all.

The countess wore it at the marriage of her son Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Lord Snowdon, to Princess Margaret in 1960.

Estimate £15,000-20,000.
