Catalogued in the March 5-6 sale in Evesham as an 18th century continental piece (many Bow figures were copies of Meissen originals), this 11in (27cm) figure of a courting couple was made in east London c.1758-62.
Although the form is rare, it is modelled with the factory’s distinctive puce-highlighted rococo scroll and shell pedestal base.
Broken in several places, it was nonetheless picked up by several bidders and sold for 20-times estimate at £2400 at the saleroom - now known as Kinghams.
