Usually held biannually in spring and autumn the rescheduled festival will run on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3. It has been a fixture at the East of England Showground since its inception under previous owners in 1972.

With stalls both inside and out at the showground – and on the button with Covid-19 restrictions on numbers at event venues until October 1 – this event looks set to be as popular as ever.

Eve Oliver, for IACF, said: “Dealers are keen to get back to trading and to give an idea of dealer numbers this is over 2000. We are excited to welcome back one of the biggest antique fairs in the country.’’

A taste of exhibitors comes with the Calvie Gallery in Nottinghamshire, Slade’s Antiques in Oxfordshire and Nicholas & Steele Vintage in Northamptonshire with “planet-friendly objects at brilliant prices”.
