The 300+ lot collection will offer American Federal and Classical furniture and 19th century American paintings and objects but also British and Continental European items.

Among the books included in the sale is a 1795 first edition of Sketches and Hints on Landscape Gardening, by the English landscape gardener Humphry Repton (1752-1818).

This publication contains hand-coloured aquatints with moveable overslips that can be applied to the original landscape to show how it can be improved. Banks’ copy, leather bound with later gilt crests to the front and back, contains the complete 16 aquatints, 10 of them hand coloured and 10 with moving overslips.

Estimate $15,000-20,000.
