With the new lockdown, Christmas shopping might be more challenging than usual this year. However, CADA is this month devoting its Instagram page to ideal Christmas buys and gift suggestions from members.
Among the featured items are those with specific Christmas themes, such as a 1763 sampler from Legge Carpets which depicts a biblical scene of Mary and Joseph with the baby Jesus.
This English needlework of the Holy Family on the flight to Egypt is signed Mary Parker fecit, 1763 and is offered by Legge Carpets for £980.
Trinity House Paintings offers a selection of wintery paintings by artists such as Kyffin Williams. Other highlights objects include those that might appeal as gifts, such a George III tea caddy from Freshfords Fine Antiques.
“Our Instagram account also shares and celebrates images taken in the area, which may be helpful when planning a trip here,” says CADA head Alex Puddy (also see 5 Questions). “We look forward to providing a warm welcome to visitors when it is safe. In the meantime, we continue to help people online and over the telephone.”
