Its resolve follows a successful initial event on its website in April, which hosted more than 100 member dealers, selling to trade and private buyers.

Though some initial “teething troubles” were reported, the association has worked to make the site faster and easier to navigate, with further improvements planned for the coming months.

For each instalment, dealers are to showcase five previously unlisted books each. Visitors to the site can connect directly with individual dealers to ask questions and make purchases. The next edition opens at noon on Friday (May 29).

“We all miss the interaction of physical fairs, but online fairs are the only possibility at the moment,” said PBFA chairman Chris Missing. “I am proud that the PBFA is leading the way in giving its members the opportunity to buy and sell, without commission, on a regular basis.”
