1. This print titled Lowry Walking on Swinton Moss was inspired by the regular walks Harold Riley (b.1934) made with the Salford artist. This signed example from an edition of 75produced in 1970 was offered at Tennants in Leyburn on February 29. (Three from the edition are believed to have been co-signed by Lowry, with footballer Ryan Giggs paying £21,000 for one at a charity auction in 2010.)

2. One of the rarer prints by LS Lowry (1887-1976) to appear at auction, The Lonely House was published by Magnus Prints in an edition of 500 in c.1970. This signed example measuring 11½ x 20in (29 x 51cm) sold for nearly six times the top guide at Reeman Dansie in Colchester on February 11.

3. Tyldesley-born artist Roger Hampson (1925-96) painted the people he met on the streets of northern towns and their mining and cotton industrial heritage. This typical 7¼ x 8¼ (18 x 20cm) oil on board titled Gladstone Mill, Bolton was offered at Peter Wilson in Nantwich on February 20.
