The Dorothy and Jim Watson collection of Poole pottery comes for sale at Cottees in Poole on February 29. Focused on the early years of the factory, the collection includes many items pictured in Leslie Hayward and Paul Atterbury’s factory history The Poole Pottery Book.
A large quantity of Carter & Co pieces made from 1908 onwards includes rare lustres such as this advertising roundel, above, decorated to the well with a stylised dolphin and a bottle kiln.

This 4in (10cm) René Lalique frosted glass portrait medallion above was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Louis Pasteur’s birth in 1922.
Lalique also produced a smaller commemorative pendant with the same profile of the French microbiologist and chemist.
It comes in a fitted box with an estimate of £200-300 at Tennants’ 20th Century Design sale on February 29.

This Omega nickel mounted ‘glass ball’ desk timepiece above is enamelled to the dial with a Supermarine S6B racing seaplane. The propeller forms the seconds dial.
The craft was developed by RJ Mitchell to take part in the Schneider Trophy, a competition it won in 1931. Shortly after the race, S6B S1596, piloted by Flt Lt George Stainforth, broke the world air speed record, attaining a peak speed of 407.5mph.
The clock is estimated to bring £200-300 at Spicers in Driffield, East Yorkshire, on February 28.

A Linthorpe dish by Christopher Dresser carries an estimate of £400-600 at Paul Beighton in Thurcroft, Rotherham, on March 2.
Impressed Linthorpe 293, the model copies an original Fijian libation dish in the collection at the British Museum.
This version (with a chip to an arm) is decorated with autumnal glazes with the figure’s head left unglazed.
