Stroeh (1939-2001) was a friend of Marguerite Arp-Hegenbach, Arp’s second wife, and this collection of around 100 works has been consigned to Christie’s by Stroeh’s daughter Ava.

As well as works by Arp, the ensemble includes pieces by his first wife Sophie Taeuber-Arp; his friend Alberto Magnelli and other contemporaries of Arp such as Georges Vantongerloo, Joan Miro and Gino Severini.

Pictured here is Arp’s Relief concret N. This work, in aluminium alloy, measures 13½ x 12in (34 x 30cm), was conceived and made in 1962 in an edition of seven and is signed and numbered ARP 0/5 on the back.

It has an estimate of €15,000-20,000.
