Art dealer Freya Mitton sells 20th century British art and is a regular standholder at the 'Wilton House Antiques Fair'. Currently on Mitton’s website and priced at £4000 is this untitled c.1980 paper collage by Eileen Agar (1899-1991). Through her collages, paintings and photographs, Agar was a leading British exponent of Surrealist art in the 1930s.
With a strong LAPADA/ BADA membership among the exhibitors at this outing, the fair running from Friday to Sunday, March 6-8, usually attracts around 2000 visitors annually.
Exhibitors set out their stalls in the cloisters and the old riding school at Wilton House, where the magnificent staterooms were designed by Inigo Jones in the 17th century.
