Paul started his career in antiques in 1957, opening five showrooms around London and the surrounding areas.

After 31 years as a successful dealer, he sold his company to concentrate on his then thriving valuation business, which is still going strong nearly 35 years later.

After becoming a Fellow of NAVA, Paul went on to become president and was instrumental in encouraging the insurance industry to recognise the standard of NAVA valuers. He was also responsible for giving many young valuers their first opportunity within the industry and was always willing to offer help and guidance to those that asked.

Paul spent much of his career completing antiques roadshows and charity auctions and his Antiques Appreciation Courses were attended by hundreds of captivated students, including many of the leading figures in the high net worth insurance industry.

I will personally always remember him as a true gentleman with great wit and charm who went through life with a smile on his face.

Paul had been enjoying his well-earned retirement for the last 12 years but sadly battled ill health for the last few years. He leaves behind his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
