She said: “I wanted to do something to give my fairs a boost, something different. I enjoy putting on events for people to look forward to and give them not only great vintage shopping, but also a memorable experience.”

Opulent decade

Twenties ‘revivals’ are very popular, celebrating the freewheeling years that defined the opulent decade for the rich, in particular its jazz music and dance crazes, when the lavishness of Art Deco hit its peak and F Scott Fitzgerald wrote his defining novel of the period, The Great Gatsby,

Brighton Roaring Twenties will be a big show, said Blagrove, running on the Hove Lawns on the seafront from August 21-23.

Maxine Stonehill and her Pop Up Vintage Fairs will be there with 50-plus dealers in the vintage village, and live bands play throughout the weekend.

Stallholders from Blagrove’s Knebworth Architectural Salvage and Vintage Fair, which runs this year on May 23-24, will be stalling out in Brighton too.

Roaring Twenties was planned on the back of the success of Bentleys Fairs’ Great Gatsby Fair launched in 2018 at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.

That event runs this year on July 17-19.
