This stoneware flambé fish jug designed in the 1930s by Danish-born Gunnar Nylund (1904-97) is offered by HaresFur for £295.

Nylund worked across Denmark and Sweden in a career that spanned the 1920s-70s. He is best known for his ceramic work but also worked in glass, starting off at Bing and Grondhal before setting up a studio with Natalie Krebs in 1929. He left for Rörstrand in the 1930s where he worked as artistic director, helping establish the firm as a leader in Swedish ceramics.

It was at Rörstrand that he created this vase.

HaresFur specialises in Scandinavian design and takes its name from the layered matt glaze often found on studio ceramics from that region.
