Eisenberg started out as a high-end dress manufacturer in the early years of the 20th century. It then established a separate line in costume jewellery, much of it distinguished by the use of Swarovski crystals.

Schwartz encountered her first piece of Eisenberg Originals jewellery in the 1980s and went on to build a collection. She also co-authored a book on the firm: Eisenberg Originals, The Golden Years of Fashion, Jewelry and Fragrance, 1920s-1950s.

Her collection includes not just jewellery but also clothing, perfume bottles and accessories. Pictured here is one of the pieces, a prancing zebra brooch from the mid 1940s set with rhinestones and with green and black enamel detailing.

Estimate $600-800.
