John Biggs Snr with the stolen snuff shoe.
The c.1880 snuff shoe was stolen from his stand at IACF Ardingly. News of the theft was reported by ATG.
This alert was read by a fellow dealer who later spotted the shoe being offered at an auction house.
The police recovered the shoe and have now returned it after completing an investigation.
