Based in Swinton near Rotherham, the 19th century factory has enjoyed a long association with the huge stately home. In its latter years it operated under the patronage of the Earls Fitzwilliam, descendants of the Marquesses of Rockingham who built Wentworth Woodhouse.

A preview will be held on November 17, when the public can take along their own pieces of Rockingham for valuation by pre-booking one of 100 available places through Wentworth Woodhouse.

The collection will be sold by Thurcroft auction house Paul Beighton in three parts, beginning on November 25 with follow-up sales in March 2 and May 25 next year. Estimates will range from £40-600.
