These vintage eastern European toy figures were pictured on a stall at one of Colin Caygill’s fairs.
These include his flagship fairs at New College at Durham University with 150- 160 exhibitors, launched in 1999, and at the Wentworth Leisure Centre in Hexham, Northumberland, which started 20 years ago. The latter is held on a Tuesday and the 120 tables are always sold out, said Caygill.
The Durham fair has been such a winner that he launched a new event last September at the university’s Sport Building in Stockton-on-Tees which was a great success.
Caygill added: “We are very much holding our own with the fairs and there continues to be interest and enthusiasm across the board.”
The next Hexham event is on Tuesday, November 12.
