This lamp, named Clarte, is a version of French sculptor’s Max Le Verrier’s most famous Deco figures titled Leuer. Depicting a female nude holding a translucent alabaster ball mounted on a marble base, it is priced at £1695 with Mark Ditchburn at the upcoming antiques fair at the Holt Hotel.
That is the view of Marcus Potts, a dealer who is also organiser of the biannual two-day antiques fair at the Holt Hotel in Steeple Aston, near Oxford. The next is on Saturday and Sunday, November 23-24, with 40 dealers.
Launched in 2013, this fair has a particular focus on the decorative including Art Deco bronzes and ceramics - one dealer, Mark Ditchburn, is bringing close to 100 examples at prices from the high tens to several thousand.
