The most expensive lot was a rare sculptural white figure of Ganymede and the Eagle from the St James’s factory (pictured in ATG Nos 2413 and 2416) that sold for $45,000 but there was also keen demand for some of the St James’s scent bottles pictured on the following page and for this c.1750 Bow blue and white coffee/chocolate pot.
“A good rare thing that was pursued by collectors,” said Sotheby’s Christina Prescott-Walker of this pot which topped the $7000- 10,000 estimate to take $13,000 (£10,155).
