This Palitoy Star Wars figure, Walrus Man, on its unpunched card carries an estimate of £500-700 at the Bishop & Miller sale of Toys, Comics, Advertising and Posters in Stowmarket on November 8.

Walrus Man (or Ponda Baba to give him the correct name) makes a relatively brief appearance in Star Wars: A New Hope. He is the character who starts a fight with Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi at Chalmun’s Cantina on Tatooine and pays for it with his right arm.

The figure was released by Kenner in American and Palitoy in the UK in 1978-79 as part of the second wave of Star Wars figures. This example is part of a cache of unsold and undisplayed stock.
