One of the woodcuts produced by Michel Wohlgemuth and Wilhelm Playdenworff for the 1491 edition of Stephan Fridolin’s 'Der Schatzbehalter oder schrein’…, a copy of which is estimated at €80,000 Hartung & Hartung.
It is lacking two blanks but is otherwise a complete example in full contemporary colour (and 17th century vellum) of one of the most attractive books of the late 15th century. This work will be sold by Hartung & Hartung of Munich on November 5.
