One of a great many treasures on offer is a splendid copy of the 1755-59 issue of Jean de la Fontaine’s Fables choisies mises en vers illustrated with engraved plates after Jean-Baptiste Oudry.

Bound as four volumes in red morocco gilt bearing the arms of the Comte d’Artois, the future Charles X, it is a copy in which all plates and ornaments are fully coloured.
