An original, initialled ink and wash drawing by EH Shepard for ‘Bertie’s Escapade’ by Kenneth Grahame – estimated at $10,000-15,000 at Swann Galleries in New York on December 10.
A partly obscured signature and note to the reverse ‘own Guildford’ might suggest that it was Shepard’s personal copy.
