What planet is this man on?
My grandfather, Charles Walter Adams, had a shop in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, in the early 1900s. He hand-built and raced bicycles holding the record from Wellington Shropshire to Shrewsbury. He passed away in 1945, aged 74.
I assure Mr Card that he was neither a street urchin nor a guttersnipe although he and many others referred to the bicycle with one very large wheel and one small one as a Penny Farthing.
