Roses in an Omega Pot by Duncan Grant (1885-1978) is among the works available on the site of Freya Mitton, a specialist in 20th century British art.

The oil on canvas, signed and twice dated ’56, is a recent addition, coming directly from a private collection in the Cotswolds. It measures 14 x 12in (36 x 29.5cm) and is available for £15,500.

British painter and designer Grant was a central member of the Bloomsbury Group. He worked as a director of the Omega Workshops, founded by Roger Fry, with Vanessa Bell. He was influenced by the work of the Fauves and Cézanne and exhibited widely in his lifetime including shows at the Tate Gallery in 1959 and 1975.

Mitton deals from Somerset and is a regular exhibitor at various fairs, including this week’s Petworth Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair (May 10-12), where she will display the picture. She updates her site regularly and posts stock highlights and other news on her Instagram page (@freyamitton).
