The Italian photographer is known for his portraits of post-war artists as well as his documentation of the Venice Biennale from 1954-72.

In this show, at Mayfair gallery Robilant + Voena from March 4-May 24, the focus is on Mulas’ images of Italian artists in the 1960s and early ‘70s.

It explores his notion of ‘critical reportage’, in which he related his eye to each of the artists he depicted. Mulas’ images, some of which have never been exhibited before, are shown alongside works from his own private collection.

The show was curated by Francesca Pola in collaboration with the Archivio Ugo Mulas, Milan. Photographs are offered each for a price in the region of €10,000.
