Isaac Oliver’s 'A gentleman in damascened armour', watercolour and bodycolour on vellum, gold and blue enamelled locket, 2in (5.5cm) high.
The loan show features examples of Elizabethan and Jacobean portrait miniatures not ordinarily on view to the public and includes works by Isaac and Peter Oliver, Nicholas Hilliard.
A few of the examples will be attached to historic costumes provided by the Royal Shakespeare Company to show how they would originally have been worn.
