The Watch Sale at Fellows in Birmingham on June 18 includes a rare Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona chronograph with ‘reverse panda’ white on black dial estimated at £30,000-50,000.
First introduced in 1963 to meet the demands of professional racing drivers, the Daytona was made in many subtle variations with this example (the reference 6265) the first to be equipped with screwed pushers and to be waterproof at 50m.
The serial number dates it to c.1972, making it among the earlier versions of this model.
