Stephanie Castell and Ben Cooper of Two Cs Antiques Fairs are now taking over the biannual specialist Kensington Ceramics and Glass Fairs on a permanent basis.
The first in 2020 is on Saturday, January 11, at Kensington Town Hall in London. By a lucky coincidence, the English Ceramic Circle is meeting next door in Kensington Public Library on the same day.
Two years ago Castell and Cooper, together with the display-case company Casemate as adviser, pulled together in less than a month this long-running fair at Kensington Town Hall which had lapsed in 2017. However, Casemate has had to pull out of the fair due to pressure of business and has handed its sole running to Two Cs.
Cooper, a dealer in Oriental ceramics, said: “This small specialist fair has a very dedicated following of dealers who wouldn’t want to miss it.”
Jupiter Antiques, with its wide selection of English porcelain covering the main factories from the 18th and 19th centuries, has exhibited at many of these fairs.
Another dealer, David Norley, shows at very few fairs only and sources some of the rarest items on the market.
For this event he will be bringing a possibly unique, Bow figure of a Koto player, c.1757, priced at £950 as well as items of Plymouth, Vauxhall and Worcester.
