Howe has been dealing from the Pimlico Road area since the early 1990s and has held stock sales at Christie’s in 2004 and 2018. Having recently relocated his warehouse from near Heathrow to the more accessible Battersea, he has decided to hold a retail event there.

It includes antiques as well as new furniture designed by the dealer such as prototypes from his Made by Howe range.

Brunch and buying

The sale kicks off on September 29 with a brunch for clients and the trade in the Pimlico Road shop, before deal-hunters are transported to the warehouse.

From October 1-5 the warehouse will be open to the public.

The sale coincides with the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair (October 1-6) in nearby Battersea Park.

The Pimlico Road showroom is updated at least weekly with new stock from the warehouse, which, Howe jokes, “has departments like Ikea”. In order to host the warehouse sale, his team has undertaken the painstaking task of photographing, researching, cataloguing and tagging the thousands of items in stock.

Following this inaugural event, Howe plans to hold monthly warehouse sales to attract new buyers. The main shop at 93 Pimlico Road also hosts events.

A separate line, selling leather, new and vintage textiles and wallpapers, continues to operate from 36 Bourne Street, close to Pimlico Road.
