The first of the new events will run on Sunday, June 2, and Cruttenden says it will have “a more antiques, homes and interiors angle to attract the many private buyers from the surrounding area as well as the trade who are frequent visitors to our markets at both racecourses”.
He added: “Many of the traders had spoken of how successful the Sunday format used to be [Wonder Whistle Promotions ran antiques and vintage fairs at Sandown Park Racecourse between 1986 and 2015].

“Having grown up not too far from Sandown and Kempton and hearing people say to me that they would love to come but couldn’t as the markets run on a Tuesday, we felt it was worth exploring.
“The trade is obviously key to our markets but if we can attract more private buyers I’m confident they are going to love what they see.”
