The Stowmarket, Suffolk, saleroom is offering a 4ft x 18in (1.22m x 45.5cm) Oxo Beef in Brief enamel sign, the white Oxo lettering on a blue and red background with image of an Oxo Cube box to the right-hand side and red bull image to the left-hand side.

Estimate: £200-400.

This early 20th century Benson 18ct gold and enamel lady’s fob watch above comes in the attractive original case.

Featuring a gilt dial heightened by red enamel and gilt Arabic numerals, the reserve with red guilloche enamel, the watch is estimated at £150-250 in the Special Auction Services November 14 auction in Newbury, Berkshire.

Clock and watchmaker Benson’s operated under several guises, starting as a partnership between JW Benson and SS Benson (a partnership dissolved in 1855 with the former carrying on the firm alone). It became a retailer of clocks, watches and jewellery in 1874, and a limited liability company in 1892, when it opened a factory in Ludgate Hill, near St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
