Born in the 1950s, he became an engineer specialising in the discovery of natural resources, focusing on the drilling and exploration of oil, gas and diamonds.

The 224 lots to be offered by Tajan include a large ensemble of wristwatches by major marques; jewellery and objets de vertu, furniture and sculpture.

A group of bronze and ivory art deco figures by a master of the genre – Demetre Chiparus – is headlined by this group, known as Les Girls, inspired by the chorus line dancers that were popular in the Paris nightclubs at the time.

Set on an onyx base, the red, silvered and gold-patinated group carries an estimate of €300,000-500,000.
