“As we await the results of Defra’s consultation, we are at a tipping point and wanted to stimulate the conversation among dealers and auctioneers,” said Robin Gray, sales director at William George.

“William George & Co does not sell ivory or endangered wildlife products,” said Gray, “but this is not enough to combat an ever-growing problem.”

The firm recently signed up to a policy on internet selling of CITES-protected wildlife and their materials, created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), wildlife trade monitoring group Traffic and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
