Perhaps an even more interesting and thought-provoking concept would be for a programme devoted to the historical timeline of ivory and the UK trade in ivory, not only educational but informative too.
Apart from showing the artistry and craftsmanship of ivory, it could also provide knowledge, insight and reflection on the ivory trade through the ages – a journey of immense toll on both humans and elephants.
We all, of course, look back on this part of global history with shame. However, the ivory trade has not shed its grisly past and continues today. A full ban is the only option and the right option.
