This fair attracts 3000 visitors per event. And now Edwards is doing the same in Chichester, West Sussex. As well as the medieval cathedral with its later window by Marc Chagall, tapestries by John Piper and a painting by Graham Sutherland, it offers the cultural magnet that is the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Historic centre

Supported by Chichester District Council to increase footfall to the city centre, the first of Edwards’ biannual antiques, vintage and decorative arts fairs in the centre of Chichester will run on Sunday, June 10, in the two main shopping areas of North Street and East Street.

She said: “The fair works very well in Romsey and I’m hoping it will do the same in this historic city centre, bringing a mix of tourists, local population and an appreciative audience for antiques and collectors’ pieces in this part of West Sussex.

“I will have 40 standholders initially, with small furniture, glass, ceramics, brass and copper items, illustration and paintings, retro glass and jewellery, vintage homeware and clothes.”

Edwards also runs other street events in Hampshire. The next is a brocante-style fleamarket in the market town of Bishop’s Waltham, on Sunday, July 8.
