The funding is from The Paul and Gladys Richards Charitable Foundation Research Program for the study of British transferware produced between 1750 and 1900, administered by the Transferware Collectors Club, a US-based, international not-for-profit body dedicated to studying this area of collecting.

It is a pretty generous grant – annual funding is $10,000 – and many British collectors and researchers have been recipients in the past. Applications need to be submitted by May 4, 2018.

The research subjects are not confined exclusively to blue printed earthenware, but may include all kinds of printing on ceramics, and there should be an end product that will benefit those interested in the field of printing on pottery and porcelain.

Full details and an application form are available on the TCC website at transferwarecollectorsclub.org.
